National Long Snapper Appreciation Day / Chris Sailer Kicking Contest

Chris Sailer Kicking introduces National Long Snapper Appreciation Day. Long Snappers are often the most under appreciated football players on the field. The saying goes, “You never know the long snappers name, unless they mess up” and “If you are a long snapper, it is your hope that the announcer never mentions your name. That just means you are doing your job well.”

I can tell you from first hand experience that a long snapper directly effects the success of kicker. In 1997, I earned All-American honors as both a kicker and punter while at UCLA. I never saw a bad snap and in fact never saw the laces of the football that year. My long snapper, yep you called it, was Chris Rubio. Our operation was flawless all year and making kicks became easy with that immense confidence that my long snapper would be perfect for me every time. Rubio never did get his All-American plaque that year. He also didn’t get to travel with me to Orlando, FL to be a part of the Home Depot ESPN Awards Show.

So…. after all these years, I have decided that it is time to thank my long snapper with the National Long Snapper Appreciation Day. I am inviting the Chris Sailer Kicking family to join me to celebrate our unsung heroes on November 1st starting in 2017 and continuing on each year from here on out.

Chris Sailer Kicking Contest – Due November 1st by midnight (Winner TBA November 2nd)

Post a picture, video, story, a combination of all of the above, etc. to your social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) showing your appreciation for your long snapper. Be creative and capture the meaning of long snapper appreciation. Tag Chris Sailer in your post. Also text (818-209-8921) or email (Chris@ChrisSailerKicking.com) your entry to Chris Sailer. The winner will receive FREE admission to Vegas XXXI January 13-14, 2018. If you are already registered for Vegas, you will receive FREE admission to any Chris Sailer Kicking camp of your choice in the future (Excluding TOP 12 Camp & Underclassmen Invitational).

The time has come. I believe this might actually quiet Rubio and his comments about kickers/punters down a bit. Or maybe not. Regardless, I cannot wait to see your entries. Good luck!

Chris Sailer Kicking Year Round Package

Chris Sailer Kicking has always been about the athletes above everything else, the unmistakable #1 priority.  Our mission is to deliver the very best technical training to fuel growth and development as a Kicker/Punter, and secondly to provide and the best possible exposure to NCAA and NFL Football Coaches and Staffs.

It is a rather simple formula.  We provide the framework for athletes to grow their kicking/punting skill through drills and exercises that translate into technique, accuracy, and speed over time.  The more frequently we have the opportunity to work with athletes at Regional and National Camps, the faster we see the development typically.  However, merely attending camps alone will not work. It is the dedication to hard work in between camps that will pay the greatest dividend.  As the athlete grows and develops, Chris Sailer Kicking creates awareness and exposure to NCAA and NFL  Coaches through our personal relationships, our website, and via Social Media better than any other Kicking/Punting instructor.  Camp attendance is the basis for us being able to document growth and development through video, competition results, and rank athletes within each class.  Rankings are based solely on how the athletes at every camp perform and compete with their peers, those who attend more frequently give themselves the most chances succeed and thereby climb the rankings.

That being said, Chris Sailer Kicking fully understands the enormous commitment that it takes to get your athlete to Regional and National Camps.  It is a huge commitment and investment of time and money.  And while Chris Sailer Kicking is in fact a business, it has always been about the athletes first and foremost.  So in an attempt to help provide athletes and their families with the greatest possible access to Regional and National Events we would like to announce the 2017 / 2018 Chris Sailer Kicking All Access Program.

Starting with our 2017 Fall Camp Schedule, our Chris Sailer Kicking Families will be able to pay one flat cost per year for their athletes to attend all of the Regional and National Camps they would like for one fee.  This new program will cover Fall, Spring, and Summer Camps (in any city / state) and both the January and May Las Vegas Events.  The Chris Sailer Kicking All Access Program will start with the Fall 2017 Camps and run through the Summer 2018 Camps.  The only camps this program will not include are The Top 12 Camp and the Underclassmen Invitational, those camps will be separate costs to attend.  This program is a direct result of feedback from our Chris Sailer Kicking Families, and we are thrilled to offer it.  We hope it is an accurate reflection of how we feel about having most opportunities to develop Kickers/Punters in the coming year.

2017 CA Summer Camp Recap, Medina Dominates!

The 2017 Chris Sailer Kicking Summer Camp Tour hit Los Angeles, CA on Thursday July 27th. This was one of the largest regional camp to date and was loaded with talent. Specialists from over 10 states were in attendance ready to learn and compete prior to the start of a highly anticipated 2017 football season. Take a look at the results.

CA Summer Camp Champions

Overall Camp Champion:
Jaime Medina (JC, CA) – Jaime is longtime Chris Sailer Kicking student and recent bounce back from Sacramento State. He is an experienced combo player that performs with great confidence. On this day he won 2 of the 4 major competitions, coming in first for both field goal and punt. Jaime has 55+ yard range on field goal and gets tremendous height on his ball. He hits a D1 kickoff with ease. And his punting is equally as strong. He won the final competition with a 50 yard, 5.30 second punt. Jaime should be the top junior college specialist is America this coming season.

Field Goal Champion:
Jason White (2019, CA) – Jason is really starting to come into his own. After a strong performance at the recent Underclassmen Invitational in Tampa, FL, he was able to follow it up with a competition win in CA. He has a great leg and does very well under pressure. He won the competition by going 7-7 with a long of 55 yards off the ground. Jason is proving that he has the tools to take his game to the college level. Look for him to do very well this coming season.

Kickoff Champion:
Kevin Boermeester (JC, CA) – Kevin is another long time Chris Sailer Kicking student. He was strong from start to finish in all areas of the game. He took the Kickoff championship with a final kick of 71 yard with 4.03 second hang time. He was also solid on field goals and showed that he will contribute as a punter as well. Kevin has the tools to be a top junior college prospect this coming season.

Punt Champion:
Andrew Rodriguez (JC, CA) – Andrew proved once again that he is one of the best in the nation. He competed very well on both field goal and kickoff. He then stepped up and won a major punt competition by punting with great consistency and showing that he can hit a big time D1 ball. He averaged over 45 yards per punt with 4.5+ hang time.
