Chris Sailer Kicking – NY Nike Fall Camp Recap!

PICTUREEEEChris Sailer Kicking continued on the 2013 Nike Fall Camp tour this past weekend in Albany, NY.  Kickers, punters and long snappers from many of the surrounding states traveled to New York on what was perfect a day for a specialist camp.  The number of specialists in attendance and the talent continues to improve with each trip to the East Coast.  Take a look at the results.

Camp Champion
Chris Miner (2014, MA): The veteran Chris Sailer Kicking student had a tremendous all around day.  He is a great athlete with a very strong leg.  His consistency and confidence were on display on this day.  He won two major field goal competitions by hitting consecutive 50 yard field goals.  Chris is going to be a fine college kicker one day.

Kickoff Champion
Christian Kapp (2014, NY): Christian was perhaps the most consistent and technically sound kicker on the day.  The Chris Sailer Kicking veteran competed until the end of nearly every competition.  His kickoffs measured 65 yards with 3.8+ hang time.  He is a strong competitor who should do very well a the next level.

Punt Champion
Rory O’Riordan (2016, NY): The young punter stepped up when it counted the most.  His consistency is what ultimately what got him to the end in the punting competition.  Most punts measured 40+ yards with 4.3+ hang time.  Look for this young combo prospect to ca

use some waves in the near future.

Other Standouts: David Vandenabee, Devin Dzikowicz, George Gendler, and Jeffery Beattie.

Weekly Kicking/Punting Recommendations (In-Season)

Friday – Game Day

  • Be careful not to over kick/punt during the warm up period.  Use this time to gain confidence and understand your field and surroundings (wind, playing surface, air, etc.)
  • Limit the number of balls hit into a kicking net.  Only hit a few balls each time before entering the game.
  • Warm up by staying loose rather than hitting too many balls.  Jogging, Using a bike & Stretching are recommended.

Saturday – Day Off

  • Watch game film
  • Cardio
  • Muscle Memory Drills
    FG/KO (Bench, Line, Contact), Punt (Progression Drill, Bad Snap Drills), KO (Steps) (20-40 minutes total)

Sunday – 100% day while always focusing on quality over quantity.

  • Warm Up (Jog, Stretch, Agilities)
  • Muscle Memory Drills
    FG/KO (Bench, Line, Contact), Punt (Progression Drill, Bad Snap Drills), KO (Steps) (20-40 minutes total)
  • 15-20 Field Goals
  • 4-6 Kickoffs

Monday – 100% day while always focusing on quality over quantity.

  • 5-10 Field Goals
  • NO Kickoffs

Thursday – Day Off

    FG/KO (Bench, Line, Contact), Punt (Progression Drill, Bad Snap Drills), KO (Steps) (20-40 minutes total)

*This is an estimated schedule.  Every kicker/punter is different and must alter this schedule based individual preferences.  I recommend toning this schedule down and the season goes on.  Staying healthy and productive is the key to success.

2013 CA Nike Fall Camp Recap – Kidd Shines!

The 2013 Chris Sailer Kicking Nike Fall Camp Tour got off to an outstanding start in Los Angeles this past weekend.  Over 100 specialists from all over the United States traveled to Chaminade High School to learn from and compete with the best.  The camp featured a great mixture of young talent and seasoned Chris Sailer Kicking veterans.  Dozens of kickers and punters in attendance will be playing college football on Saturday’s in the near future.  Take a look at the tremendous results.

Overall Camp Champion: Dillon Kidd (2014 JC, CA): Dillon outperformed 20 plus extremely talented punters on this day.  His consistency ultimately lead him to the championship.  Dillon consistently punted 40 to 50 yards with 4.5 plus hang time.  His best balls measured 55 plus yards with 4.8 plus hang time.  He is a national junior college punt leader who currently holds an offer from FIU.  After this performance, look for his recruiting to pick up big time.

Field Goal Champion:  Matthew Mengel (2014 JC, CA):  Matthew is one of the most talented junior college kickers in America.  He has a huge leg and shows tremendous potential.  He won back to back field goal competitions by hitting several 50 plus yard field goals.  Matthew is also a big leg on kickoffs and shows nice punting potential.

Kickoff Champion: Donny Hageman (2014 JC, CA): Donny was perhaps the most talented all around kicking/punting prospect in attendance.  Donny is a longtime Chris Sailer Kicking student and “TOP 12″ Member.  He has 10 field goals on the young junior college season and is also averaging well over 40 yards per punt.  Donny is a D1 scholarship prospect without a doubt.

CA Nike Summer Camp Recap

Chris Sailer Kicking just completed the 2nd of six Nike Summer Camps with a stop in Los Angeles, CA.  Once again tons of talent was on hand hoping to impress.  Kickers, Punters & Long Snappers from all over the country were in attendance at Charter Oak High School in Covina.  Take a look at the champions and standouts.

Camp Champion
Donny Hageman (2014 JC, CA) – Donny came to camp on a mission.  It was evident from minute one.  The “TOP 12” Kicker / Punter and longtime Chris Sailer Kicking student dominated in all areas.  He won 2 major competitions (Field Goal & Kickoff) and nearly won the punting competition as well.  Donny is one of the very best JC prospects in the nation that should earn a D1 scholarship.

2014 Standouts
Tristan Vizcaino (2014, CA): The “TOP 12” and Washington State commit kicked and punted as well as I have ever seen him.  The longtime Chris Sailer Kicking student proved exactly why he was offered and committed to Washington State. He has as much talent as anyone out there and his technique and consistency is coming along nicely.  A huge pick up for WSU.

Manuel Meza (2014 JC, CA): The talented punter was steady as always.  A top, if not the top, Junior College punter in the nation.  He regularly punts with a 40+ yard average with 4.5+ hang time.

Ben Sweet (2014, AZ):  Ben is quickly becoming a top national punting prospect.  He punts for great distance and hang time and has proven to be one of the most consistent high school punters out there.  Ben should start getting D1 attention in the near future.

Cole Murphy (2014, CA):  Cole has a tremendous amount of talent.  A great athlete with a big time leg.  He has only scratched the surface of what he is capable.  He has a great attitude and work ethic and could be a big time sleeper in this class.

Other 2014 Top Prospects: Lucas Alfonso, Jesse Kelly, & Cole Tracy.

2015 Standouts: Ethan Erickson, Alex Gebbing, Cristian Bianchi, Nicholas Marrone and Matt Abramo.

2016 Standouts: Jimmy Dorn and Andrew Rodriguez.

Chris Sailer Kicking is happy to announce that Highlight Videos will now be available for purchase for ALL Chris Sailer Kicking Camps this summer.  This is an incredible opportunity and will only be available to a limited number of Kickers, Punters, and Long Snappers that reserve their video.  They are offering a rate of $125 for a video.  Here is how it will work:

1. You can preegister for this service by emailing info@varsitytape.com.  In the subject line type: “GA Camp (7/17) – Chris Sailer Kicking Video”.  (obviously put a different location and date if you will be at a different location). The staff will get back to you with further instructions. Expect a response within 24 hours.

2. They are taking a LIMITED number of kickers, punter and long snappers. If you are interested, email them immediately.

He has dominated Chris Sailer Kicking camps since his freshman season.  His kickoffs are also near the very top.  Mick has all the tools to step in and play right away.  He is a well trained kicker that does his best under pressure.  Look for Mick to make to make an immediate impact in one of the top conferences in the nation.

Underclassmen “Invite Only” Event Recap

This past weekend over 100 specialists traveled to Los Angeles, CA for the Chris Sailer Kicking Underclassmen “Invite Only” Event.  The top kickers, punters and long snappers from the Classes of 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 from over 20 states were in attendance for the 2 day event.  On the heels of the “TOP 12” & “Event Elite” camp a week ago, these young specialists hope to one day follow in those footsteps.  This camp is designed for both the athletes and their parents with the theme being education and competition.  Take a look at the results…

Kyler Terry (TX) – A big, tall, strong athlete.  Currently excels at kicking, but might also be a great punter one day.
Kevin Robledo (CA) – Excellent field goal kicker.  Has the potential to be a great one.
Zach Charme (ID) – Zach has the potential to be outstanding.  Combo player that will only continue to improve.

Two More CSK “Event Elite” Pull In Huge Offers!

Chris Sailer Kicking specialists continued a huge month of June with two more big time offers coming in for “Event Elite” Members.  Tristan Vizcaino (2014 CA) picked up an offer from Washington State and Austin McGehee picked up an offer from Purdue this week.  Both Tristan and Austin are longtime CSK students that excel at both the kicking and punting positions.

Andrew David Commits to Michigan! First in Class of 2015….

Long time Chris Sailer Kicking student Andrew David picked up an offer from Michigan earlier today, and by this evening he was committed!  Perhaps the greatest part of the news…he is only in the Class of 2015.  David became the first kicker in the class of 2015 to commit on full scholarship.

David works privately with Chris Sailer Kicking Staff Member Chris Nendick on a consistent basis in the Midwest.  He has been attending Chris Sailer Kicking camps since his freshman year.  Over that time he has elevated his game to a whole new level.  He already kicks effortlessly off the ground and his kickoffs are outstanding.  He has a great mental make up and works as hard as anyone out there.

We are very proud to announce the commitment of this very talented young man.   He will go on to do special things as he finishes his high school career and continues his kicking at the next level.  Stay tuned for many updates on Andrew as he continues to train with Chris Nendick and attend Chris Sailer Kicking camps around the world.
