2017 Chris Sailer Kicking TOP 12 Camp Recap, Best in the U.S. Compete!

The best of the best high school and junior college specialists in nation gathered in Tampa, FL to compete at the prestigious TOP 12 Camp. In order to be invited to attend this camp you had to dominate at either Vegas XXIX (January 2017) or Vegas 30 (May 2017). Twenty Kickers/Punters were selected in January and an additional twenty were selected in May. The two Vegas Events brought in well over 1000 specialists, so achieving this honor was a tall task. Five wild cards were added rounding out the field of the 45 best in America!

The format for the 2017 TOP 12 was brand new. After fourteen years of the TOP 12 and Event Elite format, this year the standard was set even higher. For the first time ever, 45 specialists would have to compete in July to earn the honor of TOP 12. And… the camp would be captured by film and crew for the first ever TOP 12 Web Series. The pressure was on as the stakes were set higher then hey had every been. Every athlete would be followed by cameras. Interviews, on field performance, competitions, off the field character and thorough evaluation would ultimately determine who would be selected to the first every true TOP 12!

Each athlete earned a BLACK TOP 12 Camp shirt by way of invitation to the TOP 12 Camp. What they now sought was the coveted YELLOW TOP 12 shirt. The yellow shirt is an invitation into the most prestigious club for Kickers and Punters. Who would join the company of players such as Dan Bailey (Cowboys), Justin Tucker (Ravens), Ryan Succop (Titans), Bryan Anger (Buccaneers), Jeff Locke (Colts), Tress Way (Redskins) and many many more? College All-Americans, Lou Groza Award Winners, Ray Guy Award Winners, NFL Draftees, NFL All-Pros, NFL Superbowl Champions, etc. The atmosphere was intense.

Take a look at the results…

Day 1

Field Goal Champion
Cody Williams (2018, CA) – Cody put on a stellar performance. Coming into camp, he was one of the lowest ranked kickers in attendance. He knew he would have to work his way up the ladder, and he did exactly that by coming out of the gates hot. He won the field goal last man standing competition by going 6-6 with a long of 58 yards. Due to a strong overall camp performance he earned a 5-Star rating and is now a top 20 nationally ranked prospect.

Punt Champion
Nick Mihalic (2018, IL) – Nick was a wild card invitee and he quickly proved worthy of the selection. He is a phenomenal punting prospect that easily averages 45+ yards with 4.5+ hang time. He defeated a very strong field of punters on day one and proved that he would be a force to be reckoned with in the fight to become the overall TOP 12 punt champion. His performance throughout the three days earned him a 5-Star rating and he is now ranked the #3 punter in America.

Day 2

Kickoff Champion
Cole Talley (2018, TX) – Cole is one of the absolute strongest kickers in the nation. He continually shows his strength by dominating kickoff competitions. He earned U.S. Army All-American honors at TOP GUN, committed on full scholarship to Indiana and now won the 2017 TOP 12 Kicking Championship in the last two weeks. He is simply an outstanding kicker. He has an elite leg, kicks with excellent consistency and knows how to step up under pressure. Charles is a 5-Star rated kicker and ranked #3 in America.

2016 GA Summer Camp Recap, Faron Crushes It!

Chris Sailer Kicking was back in Atlanta, GA on July 12th.  This location has produced the most high school talent for the past few years.  This group of kickers/punters will make sure that production continues.  There was easily 10 plus athletes in attendance that will kick/punt at D1 schools.  The weather was hot, but the specialists were still able to put on spectacular performance.  Take a look at the results.

Top 2017 Prospects

Jack Faron

Jack Faron – Champion

Jack Faron was the overall camp champion.  He earned his spot in the finals by dominating the kickoff competition.  He average over 70 yards on the day, with 4.0 second hang time.  His winning kick traveled 78 yards with, 4.02 hang time.  He was the then able to defeat several talented players in the field goal head to head finals to seal the victory.  Jack is a great athlete with tremendous potential, D1 recruit without a doubt.

Jack Driggers is a big time talent.  He has a huge leg and shows D1 ability on both field goals and kickoffs.  He dominated his competition all day and came out on top of a major field goal competition by hitting 6 consecutive field goals.  His long on the day was from 58 yards out.  He also average over 70 yards on kickoffs with 4.0 plus hang time.  He is the real deal.

Mason Dillard is a smooth and accurate kicker.  He made over 85% of his field goals on the day and defeated many of the nations best in a major field goal competition.  He has a strong leg and kicks with great confidence.  I like his future at the college level.

GA & CA Recap! Pineiro and Marquez are Champions….

The Chris Sailer Kicking Summer Tour is now complete. The final 2 stops were made in Atlanta, GA and Los Angeles, CA.  Over 300 athletes attended these two events.  The talent level was off the charts.  Take a look at the results.

ATLANTA, GA

Overall Camp Champion:
Eddy Pineiro (JC) – The Alabama commit was dominating once again in Atlanta. He has one of the strongest legs that I have ever seen.  He also competes extremely well under pressure and backs down to no situation.  On this day he connected on multiple 60+ yard field goals.  He also averaged approximately 80 yards per kickoff with 4.2 plus hang time.  His best ball was 85 yards with 4.44 second hang time.  A talent like this doesn’t come along often.

Field Goal Champion:
Santiago Arango (JC) – Santiago is an outstanding kicker.  He hits a very consistent ball off the ground and gets great height on his ball.  He hit a huge 54 yard field goal to win this competition. His kickoffs are also solid.  Santiago has the tools to be a top national junior college prospect this coming season.

Field Goal Champion:
Will Horton (2017) – Will had an amazing day performance from start to finish.  The young combo prospect showed well in all three areas of the kicking game.  He won the field goal competition by hitting consecutive field goals of 35, 42, 47, 52, 54 and 55 yards.  His kickoffs are 65 plus yards, with 4.00 plus hang time.  He also shows great punting talent.  Look for this name the next few years, he could be a great prospect.

Punt Champion:
Aidan Daily (JC) – Aidan competed at the TX, NC, GA and CA camps.  The Vegas XXVI punt champion and Event Elite Member had his best performance in Atlanta.  At one point he was able to hit 14 straight punts with over 4.4 second hang time.  He also hit many 50 plus yard punts with 5.0 second hang time.  Aidan is ready to have a breakout season at the junior college level this year.

Top Class of 2016 Prospect:
Jake Verity  – Jake is one of the top combo (K/P) prospects in the nation.  His field goals, kickoffs and punts are all equally impressive.  He has 55 plus yard range off the ground on field goals. Kickoffs are 70 plus yards with 4.1 plus second hang time.  Punts are 45 plus yards with 4.6 plus second hang time. He is consistent and can also hit the huge ball.  OFFER NOW!!!
