Meet the Class of 2016 “TOP 12”

In 2003, Chris Sailer Kicking established the biggest kicking, punting, and long snapping camp the world had ever seen, The National Kicking Competition.  The camp brought in the best of the best from across the nation to compete at one location.  The camp established credible recruiting rankings and evaluations for kickers, punters, and long snappers that college coaches across the country would use for years to come.  The camp, now simply known as VEGAS takes place in Las Vegas each year in January.
Every athlete comes with one major goal in common, making the prestigious “TOP 12”.  This is THE exposure list to be on for national exposure.  The twelve best underclassmen in the nation are identified for the Kicking/Punting positions.  The best of the best are then invited to the exclusive, invite only, “TOP 12” camp that following summer.  College coaches take notice, and scholarships are awarded.

To get an idea for what the “TOP 12” is all about, take a look at some of the very best over the years:  Ryan Succop (South Carolina & Tennessee Titans), , Kai Forbath (UCLA & Lou Groza Award Winner, & Washington Redskin), Dan Bailey (Oklahoma State, Lou Groza Award Winner & Dallas Cowboys), & Randy Bullock (Texas A&M, Lou Groza Awards Winner, & Houston Texan), Bryan Anger (CAL & Jacksonville Jaguar), Brad Nortman (Wisconsin & Carolina Panters), Blair Walsh (Georgia & Minnesota Viking All-Pro), Justin Tucker (Texas, Baltimore Raven All-Pro & Super Bowl Champion), Jeff Locke (UCLA & Minnesota Viking), Cody Parkey (Auburn, Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro), Tress Way (Oklahoma & Washington Redskins) Just to name a few!

So far the “TOP 12″ has already made some serious noise.  Skyler Southam is committed to BYU on full scholarship.  Butch Hampton is committed to Western Michigan on full scholarship. Jonn Young has a full scholarship offer from West Virginia.  JJ Molson has a full scholarship offer from Arkansas State. Jet Toner, Kekoa Sasaoka, & JD Dellinger have offers from Army.  And many many more.

2015 NC & GA Spring Camp Recap & Rankings

The 2015 Chris Sailer Kicking Spring Camp Tour continued with stops in the very talented states of North Carolina and Georgia.  There were some outstanding performances and the rankings were directly effected.  Take a look a look at the results and who made waves in the specialist recruiting word.

Champions:
NC – Keith Duncan (Class of 2016, NC): Keith is one of the most consistent field goals kickers in the nation.  He has a strong leg and kicks with ease off the ground.  He has now won 3 major field goal competitions in the past 2 years.  He also came out on top in Las Vegas last May and in NC this past summer.  His strong performance has landed him inside the Top 20 national prospects in the Class of 2016.

GA – Ruben Guzman (Transfer, CA): The long time Chris Sailer Kicking Punter traveled all the way from California to participate in both Charlotte in Atlanta camps.  He was the punt champion in Charlotte, but fell just short to Duncan in the finals.  He was not to be denied in Atlanta.  He dominated the punt competition again and then defeated a talented Jackson Morris in a head to head final.  Ruben will be attending Grad School and will have one more year to play at the college level.  If you need a punter, Ruben is the guy.

Class of 2015 Standouts:
Cole Fisher (GA): The Chris Sailer Kicking “TOP 12” Member and Mercer commit is a special player.  He is smooth, consistent and steps up under pressure.  I expect big things from Cole at the college level.  Cole will be on student staff this May in Las Vegas.

JD Houston (MS): The junior college prospect was solid as always.  He currently holds college scholarship offers and will be making his decision soon.  JD should enjoy great success at the next level.  He is a very consistent performer.

Matt Barber (PA):  Matt is a very good combo player.  A strong athlete that shows nice skill as both a kicker and punter.  He holds several D1 preferred walk on offers and will be making his college choice very soon.

Logan Howard (NC):  The Western Carolina commit is a talented all around player.  A great athlete that will compete at all skills at the next level.  He has a bright future.

Class of 2016 D1 Scholarship Picks:
Jonn Young (NC): Jonn is one of the most talented combo players in the nation.  The “TOP 12” Member currently holds a scholarship offer from West Virginia.  He should see tons of attention this summer.

Mitchell Wasson (GA): Mitchell has one of the strongest legs in the nation and endless talent.  I cannot wait to see what the future holds for the “TOP 12” Member.  He could be special.

JD Dellinger (NC):  Smooth, strong, atheltic & consistent.  JD holds an offer from Army and should get many more very soon.  The “TOP 12” Member is one of the most consistent performers in the nation.

The next 5 BEST:
Marshall Long (NC), Jackson Morris (TN), Tyler Sumpter (AL), Jake Verity (GA) & Oren Millstein (FL)

Other Class of 2016 Standouts: Anthony Gaetano, Brandon Howard, Gage Russell, Hayden Watkins, Dillon Griffith, Jared Williams, Josiah Eason, Landon Salyers, Nicholas Bruhn, Noah Brunner, Tyler Grimes, Brian Johnson, Christian Kinsley, Devin Orr, Jack Pawloski, Jacob Meeks, Phillip Shure, William Chandler, Harrison Ritchie.

Top Class of 2017 Performer:
Brent Cimaglia (TN) – Brent is a very talented young kicker / punter.  He moved into the top 5 in the nation as both a kicker and punter.  If he stays on this pace, he will be a D1 Scholarship Pick.  Keep a close eye on him.

The next BEST:
Cooper Graham (NC)

Other Class of 2017 Standouts: Clayton Howell, Matt Peterson, Matt Lutley, Thomas Martin, Zach Stearns, Jake Brickell, Jake Lane, Joseph Gurley, Nick Rice.

Top Class of 2018 Performer:
Jake Camarda (GA) – Jake is really coming into his own.  He is showing great promise as both a kicker and punter.  The future is bright.

•    Vegas XXVI gives you a chance to make the “Event Elite”.  There is NO set number of specialists that will be selected.  The number selected is based on the number of participants that can compete at that VERY HIGHEST LEVEL.  Usually 20-25 are selected to join the “TOP 12″ at the most prestigious Invite Only Camp in the world.  CLICK HERE
•    Think you are good enough to make the “Event Elite” – CLICK HERE to see who you are competing with and to get a little history about the “TOP 12″ & “Event Elite”
•    It is no surprise that from Vegas XXV in January that the “TOP 12” are already getting major attention and full scholarship offers.  Who will be next?
•    The Spring Event in NOT an Invite Only Camp.  This camp offers a great experience to kickers, punters, and long snappers of all levels.  Expect a wide range of talent from beginners to the best of the best from around the world in the Classes of 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, Junior Colleges and 4-Year Transfer Students.  The best of the best, The “Event Elite”, selected from the Spring Event will be invited to attend the “TOP 12″ and “Event Elite” Camp in June.
•    Come prepared to enjoy your experience.  Do NOT put to much pressure on yourself.  Come with open eyes and ears.  Learn from your instructors and your peers.  Look around and take it all in.  Watch other groups.  Watch the college and pro demo.  Attend the Meetings.  There are so many things to learn and that you can and will benefit from if you take advantage.  Leave the camp with goals and a motivation to work harder than ever!
•    Saturday – Instructional Day.  You will get plenty of reps.  Pace yourself.  Saturday ends with a Chris Sailer Kicking Original Last Man Standing Competition. Your group numbers will be emailed to you about a week prior to camp.
