Meet the Class of 2016 “TOP 12”

In 2003, Chris Sailer Kicking established the biggest kicking, punting, and long snapping camp the world had ever seen, The National Kicking Competition.  The camp brought in the best of the best from across the nation to compete at one location.  The camp established credible recruiting rankings and evaluations for kickers, punters, and long snappers that college coaches across the country would use for years to come.  The camp, now simply known as VEGAS takes place in Las Vegas each year in January.
Every athlete comes with one major goal in common, making the prestigious “TOP 12”.  This is THE exposure list to be on for national exposure.  The twelve best underclassmen in the nation are identified for the Kicking/Punting positions.  The best of the best are then invited to the exclusive, invite only, “TOP 12” camp that following summer.  College coaches take notice, and scholarships are awarded.

To get an idea for what the “TOP 12” is all about, take a look at some of the very best over the years:  Ryan Succop (South Carolina & Tennessee Titans), , Kai Forbath (UCLA & Lou Groza Award Winner, & Washington Redskin), Dan Bailey (Oklahoma State, Lou Groza Award Winner & Dallas Cowboys), & Randy Bullock (Texas A&M, Lou Groza Awards Winner, & Houston Texan), Bryan Anger (CAL & Jacksonville Jaguar), Brad Nortman (Wisconsin & Carolina Panters), Blair Walsh (Georgia & Minnesota Viking All-Pro), Justin Tucker (Texas, Baltimore Raven All-Pro & Super Bowl Champion), Jeff Locke (UCLA & Minnesota Viking), Cody Parkey (Auburn, Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro), Tress Way (Oklahoma & Washington Redskins) Just to name a few!

So far the “TOP 12″ has already made some serious noise.  Skyler Southam is committed to BYU on full scholarship.  Butch Hampton is committed to Western Michigan on full scholarship. Jonn Young has a full scholarship offer from West Virginia.  JJ Molson has a full scholarship offer from Arkansas State. Jet Toner, Kekoa Sasaoka, & JD Dellinger have offers from Army.  And many many more.

Meet the “TOP 12″ Class of 2016!

10 Most Common Questions About VEGAS XXV

1. How do I get invited to VEGAS XXV? You don’t! It is OPEN TO ALL KICKERS/PUNTERS. It is not an invite only camp. It is a first come, first served Event. You REGISTER and you are in.

2. How old do you have to be to attend VEGAS XXV? All levels of High School through second year of Junior College. 4-Year Transfer Kickers/Punters also welcome. I will allow younger if it is pre-approved through me.

3. Is VEGAS XXV only for advanced Kickers/Punters? NO, it is open to all levels of Kickers/Punters. The earlier you go, the better you will be in the long run. Trust me, I have seen it countless times. Don’t be the guy who waits and then blows it because they were too nervous. Go early and get your butterflies knocked out sooner than later.

4. Will there be small group sessions againYes! There will be a 3-4 PM and a 4-5 PM small group session. They are one hour blocks meant to knock off the rust, get some last minute fine-tuning in and get used to the fields, brand new footballs and myself.

5. Is there a hotel you recommend for the Kickers/Punters and their parents? Yes, we have a group rate with the JW Marriott. It is about one mile from the fields and is superb.

6. When should we book flights? Plan on arriving on Friday and either leaving after 9 pm on Sunday evening (camp will end at 7 pm) or Monday morning. Please note: Monday, the 19th of January is a holiday (MLK).

7. Is there a rental car company you recommend? Yes, for rental cars, follow these steps: Go to www.enterprise.com, Fill in the information as dates and times needed, In the optional area you will add L540231 and then click continue, The next screen will ask for a PIN which is RUB, Choose your car and enjoy the discount.

8. If I am playing another sport (basketball) on Friday, can I arrive on Saturday morning? Yes, but I MUST be notified as early as possible so I can put you in a later group on Saturday.

9. Why is VEGAS XXV important? It is a major one for the recruitment of seniors since it is right before signing day, beyond important for the underclassmen as their recruiting will just be going into high gear and your only chance to be selected to the “TOP 12” (the “TOP 12”  will be selected for the Invite Only “TOP 12” and “EVENT ELITE” camp this summer in CA)

10. What do I get for attending VEGAS XXV? The best on Kicking/Punting instruction in the world, a chance to meet the best Kickers/Punters in college and the NFL (they will be on hand assisting me all weekend), a Chris Sailer Kicking shirt, a PROFILE PAGE (Ranking) with Chris Sailer Kicking, a chance to make the “TOP 12” and the winner of the camp receives one year of free Chris Sailer Kicking camps (accommodations and transportation not included).

Chris Sailer Kicking “Event Elite” Punter Alex Kinney Commits to Colorado!

Chris Sailer Kicking “Event Elite” Punter / Kicker Alex Kinney has officially committed to the University of Colorado.  The #3 Punter in the nation & #22 Kicker in the nation made his decision last night.  The offer and commitment is well deserved!  The University of Colorado is getting one of very best, if not the best.

We met Alex in January at the 12th Annual National Kicking Event in Las Vegas.  He did a great job and landed in the Top 25 both as a punter and kicker.  He showed huge potential.  He then came back to Las Vegas in May for the 12th Annual National Spring Event where he absolutely exploded on the scene.  He kicked very well, but punting is where he really excelled.  He won the Class of 2015 Punt Competition and landed at #3 in the nation.  He also made “Event Elite” and was invited to the “TOP 12” and “Event Elite” camp in June where the best of the best gather and compete.

Alex had another great performance at the “TOP 12” and “Event Elite” Camp.  The 40 best specialists in the world gathered in Los Angeles to compete.  Kinney once again came out on top of the punting competition, beating the likes of Tommy Townsend (Tennessee commit), Blake Johnson (Duke, Oregon State & Colorado offers), & Corey Fatony (Missouri commit) to name a few.  Once the news got out,  it was no surprise that Colorado came in with the offer.

Alex is a special athlete.  Look for him to have an outstanding career at Colorado in the Pac-12.  A bright future awaits.

Meet the Class of 2015 Chris Sailer Kicking “TOP 12”

In 2003, Chris Sailer Kicking established the biggest kicking, punting, and long snapping camp the world had ever seen, The National Kicking Competition.  The camp brought in the best of the best from across the nation to compete at one location.  The camp established credible recruiting rankings and evaluations for kickers, punters, and long snappers that college coaches across the country would use for years to come.  The camp, now known as the National Kicking Event, takes place in Las Vegas each year in January.

To get an idea for what the “TOP 12” is all about, take a look at some of the very best over the years:  David Buehler (USC, Dallas Cowboys & New York Giants), Ryan Succop (South Carolina & Kansas City Chiefs), , Kai Forbath (UCLA & Lou Groza Award Winner, & Washington Redskin), Dan Bailey (Oklahoma State, Lou Groza Award Winner & Dallas Cowboys), & Randy Bullock (Texas A&M, Lou Groza Awards Winner, & Houston Texan), Bryan Anger (CAL & Jacksonville Jaguar), Blair Walsh (Georgia & Minnesota Viking All-Pro), Justin Tucker (Texas, Baltimore Raven & Super Bowl Champion), Jeff Locke (UCLA & Minnesota Viking)  Just to name a few!
So far the “TOP 12″ has already made some serious noise.  Andrew David is committed to Michigan on full scholarship.  Andrew Galitz is committed to Miami on full scholarship.  Blake Johnson has offers from Oregon State, Duke & Colorado.  Daniel LaCamera has an offer from Colorado. Ben Kreitenberg has an offer from Air Force.  Much more to come!

Meet the “TOP 12″ Class of 2015!

Chris Sailer Kicking Summer Camps 2014!

The most common question so far about the summer of 2014 has been, “There are so many camps, how do I know which camps to attend and how many camps should I attend?”

I will do my best to give you some clear and simple tips.

What types of camps are there?

College Camps:
•    These are essentially tryouts that are run by the Universities themselves.
•    Seniors to be should attend these camps.
•    Younger players may want to attend one or two of these simply for experience.  (Unless you are the #1 or #2 ranked specialist in the nation)
•    Register for these camps through the University by either going to their website or calling the football office.
•    Don’t expect great instruction.  Remember, these are basically tryouts.  Most eyes will be on the best of the best.
•    Camp size ranges from 75-250 Kickers, Punters & Long Snappers.
•    NO RANKINGS
•    BLOG 1 on College Camps
•    BLOG 2 on College Camps
•    BLOG 3 on College Camps

Chris Sailer Kicking Underclassmen Event & “TOP 12” & Event Elite:
•    These are the ONLY 2 INVITE ONLY camps that Chris Sailer Runs.  You must be invited to attend.
•    You should 100% attend if you are invited.
•    These camps should be your #1 priority. Period.
•    Underclassmen = Juniors, Sophomores, Freshman, or 8th Graders for the coming year.
•    Underclassmen is a combination of education & competition.  Parents should 100% attend as this camp is it is as much for them.
•    Underclassmen camp size 50-75 Kickers & Punters.
•    “TOP 12” & “Event Elite” = Best of the best in the world invited based on performance in Las Vegas in either January or May.
•    “TOP 12” & “Event Elite” is open to the public for viewing.
•    Rankings will be updated based on performance.

CSK – 1 Day Camps in Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA & Los Angeles, CA:
•    Most popular CSK camps that provide the entire experience.  (Instruction, Parent Involvement, Film Analysis, Competition, Rankings)
•    Those entering senior year should attend 1-2 of these camps.
•    Younger players should attend at least one of these.

FBU Camps
•    Invite only camps run by FBU (A Chris Sailer Kicking Partner)
•    If you are invited, you should 100% attend at least 1 of these camps.
•    Expect great instruction and exposure (Chris Sailer & Chris Rubio present)
•    Regional camps in Orlando, FL, San Diego, CA, Dallas, TX, Los Angeles, CA Seattle, WA & Dublin, OH.
•    Top Gun camp in Dublin, OH July 18-19, 2014.
•    2 Kickers, 2 Punters & 2 Long Snappers will be selected to play in the 2014 U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Top Gun Camp.
•    Youth specialists will be selected to play in the East Bay All-American Games!  Other specialists will be invited to play in the FBU Championships.
•    Register for these camps by calling FBU and using the Code CS14
•    Rankings on www.ChrisSailerKicking.com are updated based on performance.

So, of course, now you have follow up questions.

Q: My son is a senior to be, won’t his legs get tired?

A: If you want to play college football, this summer should be 100% dedicated to kicking & punting.  To answer the question….YES, they will get tired.  You have to be smart about laying out your summer schedule.  You cannot kick/punt everyday.  Your body needs rest to stay healthy and maintain the ability to perform at your highest level.  Try not to kick/punt on consecutive days.  If you have to kick/punt on consecutive days, take 2 days of rest before the next time you kick/punt.

Q: Many camps are scheduled for the same day?  And if I cannot kick/punt on consecutive days I am going to miss out on many opportunities, so what do I do?

A: It is impossible to be in 2 places at once.  So sometimes you will have to make tough choices.  A college coach can schedule you to come kick/punt for them on an alternate date.  As long as the University is putting on another camp on that day, you can go kick/punt for them.  The coach has to be willing to do this for you.  This is how you will know how bad they really want you.  Call the coach and try to schedule and alternate date.

Q: How do I prioritize which camps are most important?

A: 1. “TOP 12” & “Event Elite”, 2. Underclassmen “Invite” Event, 3. FBU Top Gun, 4. Chris Sailer Kicking 1-Day Camps, 5. College Camps, 6. FBU Regional Camps

Q: Camps costs and the travel costs associated with these camps can be very expensive, so what do I do?

A: You will have to prioritize based on the above.  It is important to see other parts of the country if possible.  This will one day make the college decision process much easier.  Again, tough choices.

Q: I am getting a lot of “Invites” from competitors of yours?  Do I have to go to these?

A: I can write a book on this.  But to keep it simple, No.  Invites aren’t invites if they invite everyone.  Our website is used everyday to solicit.  Clever advertising doesn’t equal a quality camp.  Chris Sailer Kicking is the #1 most trusted resource for college coaches nationwide.  Actions speak louder than words.  Believe in Chris Sailer Kicking and will you not be disappointed.

Tips:

•    Be realistic about your skill level when it comes to college camps.  Remember, these are tryouts.  Attend college camps at the level in which you are capable of playing.  This will give you college options.  Attend D1, D2, D3, NAIA, etc. camps where you have a realistic chance of playing.  Otherwise you will simply be spinning your wheels.  Be open minded in your search.
•    There is no way to figure out 100% which Universities will be offering scholarships.  Things are always changing.  Almost every University will take 1 Kicker, 1 Punter & 1 Long Snapper each year as either a scholarship or preferred walk on athlete.  So, all college camps provide opportunity.  Don’t stress yourself out trying to figure out everything that happens behind the scenes.  Their is NO LIST.
•    If a college doesn’t have a kicking camp (common with lower level schools), call the coach and ask for a day that you can kick/punt for them.
•    Don’t kick at a college camp if your are not 100%.  You want to show at your absolute best.  Your performance/results/charts will be used by not only that University, but shared with others as well.  Word travels fast both in the positive and negative.
•    When you travel, take advantage of the opportunity. Visit Universities in the area.  Get a feel for the area or region of the country.  Do not be afraid to simply walk on campus and into the football office.  Tell them you are a Chris Sailer Kicking recruit and would love a tour.  Most Universities will treat you very well.
